Watch Jonathan Quick’s amazing save turn into Phoenix’s game-winning goal

If you were pulling for the Los Angeles Kings in their Monday night game against the Phoenix Coyotes, this was the ultimate letdown of your night.
Jonathan Quick has made a living from his acrobatic and unbelievable saves and he appeared to make another two in the last five minutes of a tie game. But on the stat sheet, he’ll get credited with zero saves on this play.
What appeared to be a game-saver for the Kings, turned into the game-winner for the Coyotes. Does it sting any more than that?

So close, yet so far.
You may wonder why the referee didn’t see the puck cross the line, since it wasn’t even close. But when you look at the picture above, you can see he’s on the side of the rink where Quick’s body has blocked the view of the puck, which went in and out at high speed.
Overall, the game was a wild one, with the Coyotes jumping out to a 2-0 first period lead, then coming back from a 3-2 deficit in the final frame. With the 4-3 win, Phoenix moved two points ahead of Dallas for the final wild card berth and are now three points behind Minnesota, who lost to Boston Monday night.
